Molecular Testing

Molecular Diagnostics is a collection of techniques used to detect and analyze targeted markers in biological samples. How your body expresses genes or what genes may be present from foreign invaders can play a significant role in your current and future health. Summit Clinical specializes in real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing to detect various disease states.

COVID-19

Caused by the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19 is a severe acute respiratory syndrome virus that was the cause of the 2019 pandemic. Today, a COVID-19 RT-PCR test is readily and easily available upon request from any Summit walk-in clinic.

For faster service, create an account on the COVID Connect 2 website prior to coming to our testing sites 

Testing for Non-medical reasons?

Take an RT-PCR test for non-medical reasons, like travel

Testing before a medical procedure?

COVID-19 test requests from medical facilities prior to a medical procedure

Medicare’s reimbursement rate is $123.46, and we will accept this as payment for a COVID-19 test

Influenza A & B

Flu (influenza) is a nose, throat, and lung infection. This respiratory ailment often clears up on its own. However, the symptoms and complications are more severe for some individuals.

RSV A & B

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that produces mild cold-like symptoms for more individuals. Older adults and young children are most likely to develop more severe complications such as bronchiolitis or pneumonia.

How to Order

Visit any Summit Clinical Laboratory collection site.

Upon arrival, you will fill out a symptom questionnaire.

Please bring your insurance and ID!

Result Availability

At Summit, our respiratory molecular testing results will be published the same day! Results will be available in numerous ways depending on how you got your test. 

Physician Clinic

If you get your test from a clinic, your results will be sent to that clinic's office.

​Clinic results will be available via fax, email, or our web portal LabNexus.

Walk-In

If you get a test from a Summit clinic, the results will be pushed to LabNexus. Check your email for instructions on how to view your results with a unique user link to LabNexus. You can also call us and ask our friendly support staff.
